Satake Megumi Tsuchime Santoku Japanese Kitchen Knife 17 cm - The Champion of the Three Virtues: Slicing, Dicing, Chopping.

The Satake Megumi Tsuchime Santoku is a true all-rounder in the kitchen, a perfect choice for chopping vegetables and slicing meat and fish. This knife perfectly blends modern manufacturing technology with traditional Japanese craftsmanship. Although the blade is machine-forged, each piece is manually inspected to meet the highest quality standards.

The Tsuchime Technique and the Three Virtues

  • The most outstanding feature of the knife is the Tsuchime (锤目) forging technique, which creates small, hammered depressions on the upper part of the blade. This hammered surface is not only aesthetic but also highly functional, as it reduces friction between the blade and the food. As a result, sliced food does not stick to the blade, making the cut much smoother and more precise. The word "santoku" (三徳) means "three virtues," which refers to the knife's three main uses:

  • Slicing: The santoku knife is excellent for slicing meat, fish, and vegetables thinly and evenly.

  • Dicing: The excellent edge of the blade allows for extremely precise dicing, whether for vegetables or other ingredients.

  • Chopping: The special shape and optimal weight of the blade make it significantly easier to chop vegetables and herbs quickly and efficiently.

Comfort and Safety

  • The characteristic curved edge makes it easy to chop with a rocking motion, while the wide blade provides practical help for conveniently gathering and moving chopped ingredients. The comfortable, raised handle ensures that your fingers never touch the cutting board or the food, allowing you to use it with maximum safety and confidence while cooking.

  • The Satake Megumi Tsuchime Santoku represents Japanese precision and quality, a reliable partner for everyday cooking.
